If anybody was in any doubt as to where the next land of opportunity is in online casino gaming, the fact that three European giants of the sector have all confirmed expansion plans in the United States confirms it.
Play ‘n Go will make the move Stateside after securing a licence to operate in the state of Michigan – their first concerted effort in the North American market.
The firm’s CEO, Johan Tornqvist, described the expansion plans as a ‘landmark moment’ for his company, and he believes Play ‘n Go are ‘uniquely positioned’ to thrive in the ever-growing sector in the United States.
“We’ve become a leader in regulated markets by focusing on the player and creating games that entertain above everything else,” he said.
“We believe this gives us an edge in the US, but we’ll be taking nothing for granted and look forward to listening, learning and adapting so we can provide the very best casino entertainment to US players.”
And further progress could be on the cards for the Swedish firm as they plot expansion into other states where online casino gaming already is, or will be, legalised. “Our aim is to see Play’n GO games become as beloved in the US as they are in every other regulated market around the world,” Tornqvist said.
“We know that each regulated market is different and that this will take time in the US, but we are absolutely committed to expanding our footprint across the country.”
Evolution are Going Live
Meanwhile, iGaming behemoth Evolution have revealed their new live casino studio in Connecticut.
It’s the fourth facility that the European firm has established on American soil, and will act as a base for their next generation of live casino action to be filmed and streamed to partners around the country.
It also cements Evolution’s presence in Connecticut, where their slot library has been live and legal for the best part of a year.
The firm’s commercial director in North America, Jeff Millar, confirmed that platforms offered by DraftKings and FanDuel had already gone live with their new content, and commented: “Evolution is proud and excited to further expand its North American footprint, and to once again help operators be first into a new online market.
“We are confident that online players in Connecticut, just like players in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan and West Virginia before them, will enjoy a truly world-class gaming experience.”
Evolution’s foray into West Virginia was only finalised in June, confirming that American expansion will be key for many operators in the second half of 2022.
Wazdan’s American Adventure
Online slots and table game developer Wazdan has taken a more circuitous route into America than Play ‘n Go and Evolution.
They have penned a partnership deal with Las Vegas outfit Ruby Seven Studios, which will see a number of Wazdan titles added to the latter’s Ruby Casino channel.
The firm have previously inked similar agreements with the likes of RushStreet Interactive and Light & Wonder, with casino aficionados in New Jersey, West Virginia and Michigan able to enjoy the fruits of Wazdan’s labour.
