Like an earnest boy band from the 1990s, gambling brands from around the world are hoping to ‘break’ America as the expansion of the sector continues at some pace in the country.
Two of Europe’s most prominent operators are eyeing their slice of the pie too, and that explains why Unibet and Betway have partnered with two of the finest casino software outfits in the game.
Unibet, the Scandinavian operator, has penned a deal with Playtech that will see the firm’s table games and slots added to Unibet sites in a number of US states.
For Unibet, this marks their first foray into the North American market with their casino platform, while Playtech have already signed agreements with bet365 and BetMGM to provide games content for the brands on their New Jersey facing sites.
For now, the partnership between Unibet and Playtech will test the water in the Garden State, although expansion into new territories is expected as more and more states liberalise their gambling laws as they seek to get their hands on as much tax revenue as possible.
The chief operating officer of Playtech, Shimon Akad, is ‘proud’ of his employer’s new partnership.
“We are delighted to announce this exciting step in Playtech’s US growth,” he said. “Unibet deliver a fantastic entertainment experience to their US customers, and we are proud to partner with them to deliver Playtech’s casino software as part of their market leading offering – starting in New Jersey.
“Playtech continues to partner with the leading operators in New Jersey to bring its industry-leading casino software to the US market, and we look forward to continuing to expand into new states.”
Betway Eye Evolution Not Revolution
Meanwhile, the all-round gambling operator Betway is looking to accelerate their entry into the US market by strengthening their bond with Evolution.
The duo have enjoyed a creative collaboration together in the past, and the new expansion sees Evolution’s live casino and ‘first person’ games added to the Betway platform in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
It means that American customers of Betway’s in those corresponding states will be able to enjoy live blackjack, roulette and blackjack, as well as some of their ‘gameshow’ style titles that continue to grow in popularity.
The deal will build upon Betway’s existing partnership with NetEnt, who Evolution acquired in 2020.
Evolution’s commercial director for North America, Jeff Millar, is delighted with the link-up.
“Our US rollout continues at pace and, once again, we are delighted to be working with a brand with which we have already built an extremely strong and close relationship in other markets,” he confirmed.
“We very much look forward to helping Betway achieve major success in these first two states, and in other states in the future.”
The mutual back-slapping continued with Anthony Werkman, the CEO of Betway, revealing:
“Betway customers in New Jersey and Pennsylvania will be able to enjoy playing our world-class, Evolution-powered online casino games in their homes and while on the move.”
