Microgaming Ready for Launch Into the Live Casino Sector

Croupier Shuffling DeckOne of the world’s most beloved slots and table game developers is spreading its wings into a whole new sector.

Microgaming have confirmed their plans to launch a live casino through their On Air Entertainment brand, with an early 2022 release the likely date for the diary.

On Air Entertainment, which is an in-house brand powered by Microgaming, is based in Malta and will operate from a state-of-the-art studio space in Riga. The live dealer action will be streamed live from the purpose-built environment, with Microgaming looking to take on their major rival Evolution at their own game.

There is no word yet on what game types Microgaming and On Air Entertainment are working on, nor what will be available to gamers upon the product’s release. However, if the firm delivers similar standards we have come to know and love from their traditional online casino games, these are very exciting times indeed for live dealer enthusiasts.

The CEO of Microgaming, John Coleman, revealed his delight at the new development in his brand’s history.

“On Air Entertainment represents a new evolution of live casino gaming, possessing all the experience, talent and passion required to innovate in the live casino space,” he said.

“I am delighted that Microgaming is playing an integral part in their exciting journey.”

And Andres Rengifo, the managing director of On Air Entertainment, cannot wait to get started.

“Our vision is to be the global innovator of choice for tailored live casino experiences, and to achieve this we’re bringing together the very brightest and best live casino talent from across the industry,” he commented.

“This is a game-changer for us, and we can’t wait to begin broadcasting together!”

Mega Money Madness

Mega Moolah Games

What kind of impact Microgaming’s move into live casino gaming has we will have to wait and see, but it will have to go some to match the prestige of their progressive slot game library.

Once again, the jewel in the crown – Mega Moolah – has come up trumps, and one lucky player spinning the reels on the Absolootly Mad version has walked away with a whopping €19 million (£16 million) payout.

It is believed that this is the largest ever payout in online slot gaming history – beating the previous record that was, ironically, set by Mega Moolah as well. It also takes the total prize money handed out by Absolootly Mad to €46 million, which isn’t bad at all for a game released as recently as May 2020, while Microgaming’s progressive slot network has now served up €1.3 billion in collective payouts.

The big payout comes a matter of weeks after another Microgaming title, Book of Atem: WowPot, splashed out a jackpot of some €17 million (£14 million) to its lucky recipient.

Coleman was in quip-happy form when quizzed about his firm’s spate of big money wins.

“We’re absolootly delighted to see Mega Moolah make history once again with its latest record-breaking win, and what an incredible win it is – €19.4 million!” he said.

“That’s the largest jackpot payout in an online slot of all time. Congrats to the player, and well done to Napoleon Sports & Casino on their second Mega jackpot win on our network in as many weeks.”
