A Finnish firm renowned for their innovative approach to online casino, poker and bingo gaming has been granted a licence to operate in the UK.
Relax Gaming revealed the move in a press release published on their website, in which they thanked the UK Gambling Commission for handing them approval.
Established back in 2010, the brand already boasts a number of high-profile partners, including 32Red, BetVictor and latterly Entain’s brands Ladbrokes and Coral, amongst many others.
Already licensed in Malta and Gibraltar, where the firm is headquartered, Relax has capitalised on their growth in other regulated markets to bring their unique games to a British audience.
The Relax CEO, Tommi Maijala, was understandably delighted with the news.
“Having all our products and services approved for our Gibraltar branch is another major commercial highlight for us,” he said. “Its significance will be felt across the business, including by our valued third-party partners.
“This licence acquisition represents fresh opportunity in our drive to deliver excellence and growth across all regulated markets.”
What Can UK Players Expect?
The floodgates are likely to open now that Relax Gaming’s titles can be supplied to UK-facing casinos.
Those in the industry respect Relax as one of the leading suppliers of games around, each of which is designed by their own in-house studio team.
As of right now, they have more than 2000 games in their arsenal, and taking prominence in their collection are table games such as roulette and blackjack and slots. Their library includes Wild Chapo, Templar Tumble and Kluster Krystals, which uses the brand’s exclusive MegaClusters game engine that gamers won’t find anywhere else after Relax and their development team trademarked the idea.
Let’s Get Ready to Rumble isn’t an ode to the Ant and Dec song of the same name – it’s actually a boxing-inspired slot featuring the dulcet tones of legendary ring announcer Michael Buffer, while Book of 99 was released to much fanfare earlier in 2021; this is believed to be the first online slot in history that has a 99% RTP, a figure previously unheard of. In essence, this means that the ‘house’ edge is just 1%, with online slots typically having RTP rates of between 90-95%.
Relax starting producing poker games in 2014, and they haven’t looked back since – winning a handful of prestigious industry prizes including Innovation in Poker at the EGR Awards and the GIA award for Poker Supplier of the Year in 2020.
Punters can expect plenty of cash games – Texas Hold’em and Omaha reigning supreme there – and sit & go style action, with some titles featuring mammoth jackpot pay outs.
Bingo lovers also won’t be disappointed if Relax’s variety of games are added to their casino of choice. There’s 75 and 90-ball variants, plus jackpot games linked to a progressive network and mini slots to enjoy while you’re waiting for the caller to clear his or her throat.
Competition is a fantastic thing in the online casino space, and it’s players who ultimately benefit the most.
